Domanski 60th Birthday Italian Wine Tasting

Would a wine tasting be great to do for someone's milestone birthday?

Just ask Liz Domanski who set up a special wine tasting for her husband Rich's recent 60th Birthday. With only a week to go, Liz asked Rich what did he want most for this very special milestone occasion. "Well if we had more time, I wish we could do an Italian wine tasting", said Rich. Liz gave Ah Tavolá a call.

Liz explained that this was Rich's surprise party; several of their special friends would be coming to a wine tasting and then a catered dinner. "We wanted to do a tasting of wines from the regions we would be visiting on our trip to Italy in late Spring 2007". In addition, Liz wanted to get Rich a special Italian wine that he had always wanted - which is one of Ah Tavolá's specialties!

Somehow Liz managed to keep Rich in total suspense all the way to the moment I walked into the house. "I wondered who this dressed-up guy was, coming into my house with my family and why he was here", Rich laughed. "But since he brought wine, it was ok by me." I presented a series of white and red wines from Tuscany to Campania, and the regions in between. Then prior to dinner, Liz commissioned me to get Rich one of his favorite Italian wines as a special gift to commemorate his 60th birthday - a '95 Monviglievo Barolo. Rich was ecstatic. What better way to spend such a special occasion - great food, great wine, and special friends and family!
